Scope and Contents
Items in this series document both Pander's personal and professional life. Overviews of Pander's life can be found in the resume files as well as the 1978 interview transcription for the Oregon Historical Society. Many files include research materials, proposals, notes and drawings for Pander's projects. Projects range from murals, to portraits, to theater set designs. Files on murals and paintings include Oregon State University, the University of Oregon, the 911 Communications office and the Port of Portland. Business correspondence throughout the files relate to Pander's projects, articles, and the sale of his artwork. Business correspondence also includes Henk's attempt to break into the New York gallery market.
Pander's involvement with the theater, specifically the Storefront and Oregon Ballet Theatre, is documented along with materials relating to the founding of Portland's Visual Chronicle.
Photographs and research materials from Pander's trip to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Kennedy Space Center for his painting of the Galileo Project are included. Throughout the files are personal correspondence from family and friends, written in both English and Dutch.
