This series features Margaret Forsythe’s collected correspondence, photography, her writings and academic work, and other assorted ephemera. The materials in the collection are from as early as the 1920s, spanning all the way to the last years of Forsythe’s life in the 2000s. Forsythe's correspondence features letters written to family members such as her parents and aunt, as well as to her many other corresponents such as co-workers met during her tenure at the Central Intelligence Agency, friends made in Japan while living there in 1948, and many others. In Forsythe’s notes and research are her academic notes as well as personal writings touching on a variety of subjects like Asian culture, science fiction, international politics and Forsythe's own travels. Forsythe's collection of Cold War materials include a significant amount of advanced Cold War era literature. Forsythe's photography collection is extensive and features a wide variety of different photographic mediums. Lastly, Margaret Forsythe's ephemera is comprised of everyday items like playbills and magazines but also some items relating to her government service, such as her government passport and a commemorative tray for her service in Vietnam.
