The collection encompases a range of materials from Senator Mark Hatfield’s re-election campaign in the 1980s. It includes brochures, petition letters, flyers, correspondence, and a binder that clarifies Hatfield’s stance on issues and outlines some of the projects he worked on. Other materials include campaign memorabilia such as a hat, poster, and bumper stickers; newspaper articles (1985-1997); correspondence (1966-1994); and “The Sojourner File” (1983). The collection also contains materials from the opening of the Mark O. Hatfield Library at Willamette University (1986) and from a dedication event hosted by Willamette University in honor of Senator Hatfield’s 50 years of public service (2001). There is also an Oregon Legislative Guide (1995) and a file of Oregon House and Senate District Maps (1983) featured in the collection.
