Schubert, Donald, 2005
Scope and Contents
Series I consists of correspondence between Bill Rhoades and various artists, gallery owners, friends, and relatives. Topics mainly focus on Rhoades’ interest in trading and collecting art, and donating artwork to the Hallie Ford Museum of Art and the Portland Community College Rock Creek campus. Included are inquiries to artists and art galleries regarding potential trades for artwork, as well as reference to Rhoades' work as a liaison between artists and museums. Correspondence also gives a glimpse of Rhoades’ life as a pet owner and avid outdoorsman.
The majority of the correspondence consists of printed emails with some handwritten letters and cards throughout the collection. Files retain original order, organized by name. Correspondence within each file is organized chronologically. The majority of the correspondence dates 2004 to 2010.
