Scope and Contents

This series consists of legislative materials generated by Smith’s office during his time as the representative of Oregon’s Second and Fifth Districts. The Second District is comprised of all of Baker, Crook, Deschutes, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Hood River, Jackson, Jefferson, Klamath, Lake, Malheur, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco, and Wheeler counties. It also includes part of eastern Josephine county and some of the Grants Pass area. The Fifth District is comprised of Lincoln, Marion, Polk and Tillamook counties as well as part of Benton, Clackamas, and Multnomah counties.
