Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement, Vol. I, II, 1994 February
Scope and Contents
This series consists of legislative materials generated by Kopetski’s office during his time as the representative of Oregon’s Fifth District. The Fifth District is comprised of Lincoln, Marion, Polk and Tillamook counties as well as part of Benton, Clackamas and Multnomah counties.
Kopetski’s work on several major pieces of legislation is documented throughout the series. During his first term he was on the Agriculture Committee and worked extensively on the Opal Creek Forest Reserve bill. During his second term, Kopetski served on the Ways and Means Committee and was instrumental in getting the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA) through the House of Representatives. Kopetski also worked with Mental Health issues and environmental issues such as the Endangered Species Act and the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
Bills that were introduced by Kopetski are identified by his initials, MJK, appearing before the name of the bill.
