Scope and Contents
Subseries A contains committee hearing transcripts, testimony records, and other materials related to Smith’s time as chairman of the Committee on Agriculture in the House of Representatives. Subjects include NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trades), and CCRD (Conservation, Credit and Rural Development Subcommittee) minutes. The subseries also includes maps on the Oregon Wilderness Act of 1984.
Subseries B contains material related to the Newberry Volcanoes National Monument bill.
