Historical Note
The New Gallery of Contemporary Art was opened in Portland, Oregon, by Ron Peterson and Norma Heyser in 1958. In the gallery Peterson and Heyser displayed several of Portland's more experimental artists including Byron Gardner, Duane Zaloudek, Louis Bunce, and Manuel Izquierdo. The gallery closed in 1962.
