The John Rock papers consist of a record book detailing Rock's completed paintings and prints from the 1960s and 1970s. Also included are exhibition flyers from two separate Salishan Lodge shows.

Biographic Note

John Rock was born in Tillamook, Oregon in 1919. He graduated from Oregon State University with a major in industrial arts and a minor in art. Rock taught for several years at Southern Oregon University before continuing his education and earning a Masters of Fine Arts from Oakland's College of Arts and Crafts. He began teaching in the Art Department at Oregon State University in 1958. His prints and drawings were nationally exhibited. He died in 1993 at the age of 74.
