Scope and Contents

The Willamette University scrapbook collection consists of scrapbooks created by Willamette University faculty, staff and students. Scrapbooks include newspaper clippings, photographs, programs, letters, awards, and souvenirs gathered to document the individual and community life at Willamette University. Included are scrapbooks created for campus residence halls, scrapbooks created by individual students and faculty members, and scrapbooks created to document publicity about the university.

Overview

The Willamette University Scrapbook collections contains scrapbooks created by students, faculty and staff that document aspects of Willamette University life in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Arrangement

This collection is arranged into four series: I. Faculty scrapbooks; II: Publicity scrapbooks; III: Residential scrapbooks; and IV: Student scrapbooks.

Scrapbooks retain their original form. Scrapbooks are organized in alphabetical order.

Related Materials

Related collections include the Ivan Corner '21 WU photographs collection; The Ralph W. Barnes papers; and The Robert C. Notson papers, which include Adelia (White) Notson's '25 scrapbook and Jane (Notson) Gregg's '54 scrapbook. Also related are the Office of Communications records which contain compilations of newspaper and magazine articles.
