Lausanne Hall was built in 1920. It replaced the Women's Dormitory that had been the home of Willamette University's first teacher, Chloe Clarke Willson. That dormitory was closed in 1915, and construction for the new Lausanne Hall began in 1919. Between July 1943 and October 1945, Lausanne became the home of the V-12 College Navy Training Program at Willamette.
