From the Series:

This series contains scrapbooks created by students to document their time at Willamette University. Largely covering the early half of the twentieth century, students' scrapbooks included programs, letters, souvenirs, photographs, and newspaper clippings. Programs include dances and dinners put on by campus fraternities, sororities, and residential organizations. Letters are from loved ones on-campus and at home. Collected souvenirs include dried flowers, pencils, name-cards, and in the case of Barbara Crookham Euler, tea bags and wedding cake.

Biographical / Historical

Hazel Luella Malsten graduated in 1926 iwth a Bachelor of Arts degree in French. She was a member of the Philodosian Society and the Y.W.C.A., and was elected by the faculty to Alpha Kappa Nu, an honoary scholarshp society. Hazel's daughter, Shirley Griffin, attended Willamette during the 1949-1950 school year. Shirley's scrapbook is also in Box 56.
